THE WAITING ROOM 7 minutes 2003 The Waiting Room is a video about motherhood. Set entirely in a metaphorical room with pink walls and a red floor, moments of reproductive choice are ritualistically enacted. The room transforms by way of sound and props from a clinic waiting room to a phone booth; from a public bathroom stall into a surgeon's operating room; from a living room in need of a good vacuuming to a potential baby's bedroom. Each vignette juxtaposes clichés of femininity and motherhood with the surgical green of the medical industry, creating an eerie anxiety - a sense of waiting - particular to women.
